Camp Spinal H2O

The 3rd Camp Spinal H2O was held in Barcelona between 31 August and 6 September, organised by the Sunnaas Foundation and the Institut Guttmann. This is the most important water sports event for people with spinal cord injuries worldwide. It was a week full of sports activities in a unique environment in the city of Barcelona. “Experts” with spinal cord injuries themselves were the instructors, offering functional training and exceptional empowerment for young people with a recent spinal injury who have only recently left hospital.

A total of 57 people participated, including users and instructors, with different types of injuries and from countries like Norway, Sweden, England, Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania. The Institut Guttmann and the Sunaas Foundation took advantage of the third year of the camp to hold a meeting between the management teams of both foundations and ensure their continuity and closer collaboration.
