Camp Spinal H2O is an international water sports campus, co-organised by the Institut Guttmann and Norway’s Sunnaas Foundation, held annually since 2017.
The camp is aimed at young people with recently acquired spinal cord injury from different countries. It is organised by professionals from the Institut Guttmann and the Sunnaas Hospital, together with expert instructors and elite athletes, and it is always carried out in partnership with other entities and companies.
Participants share a week together, taking part in different outdoor water sports activities in Barcelona and other places in Catalonia, as well as other sports and cultural activities. Among other activities, young people with a spinal cord injury get a taster of sports like paddle surfing, kayaking, sailing, scuba diving, etc.
Camp activities also include sessions to improve wheelchair handling and other skills to lead an autonomous, independent and fulfilling life.
