Biologist

After completing his thesis on the regulation of metallothionein proteins, he spent 4 years in London, doing a postdoctoral period at the National Blood Service and then another at the University College of London (Wolfson Institute for Biomedical Research). There he focused on studies on stem cells and the central nervous system, as well as on stem cell models for hematopoietic studies.

In 2009 he joined his current laboratory in the Neuroplasticity and Regeneration group (Medical Physiology Unit of the UAB Faculty of Medicine and the UAB Institute of Neurosciences), where his main line of work since then has been cell therapy in spinal cord injuries. As a researcher, he has participated in 35 international publications.

Since 2024, he has held a position as Lecturer in the Medical Physiology Unit, where he combines his teaching and research activities. In the teaching field, he has taught for 16 academic years, with a total of approximately 2,800 teaching hours in the Faculty's Degree courses and approximately 100 hours in Master's courses. He has also directed 10 Final Degree Projects (TFG) and 3 Final Master's Projects (TFM).
