1st edition of the Active Life program, a springboard to community and independent living
The ultimate goal of rehabilitation is to ensure that after a neurological injury the person regains as much as possible their functional autonomy, while their ability to decide on the model of life they want to live. At the Institut Guttmann, we have launched, in a pioneering way in our country, Active Life, a program of empowerment, community training and initiation into independent living.
The first edition of Vida Activa will be from 2nd to 15th May with a minimum of 6 participants with spinal cord injury, this time. It will take place in the city of Barcelona and will take advantage of the facilities of Guttmann Barcelona, Institute of Brain Health and Neurorehabilitation and the Guttmann Barcelona Life apartments. Professionals from different areas of the Guttmann Institute will participate: the Area of Empowerment and Quality of Life, Functional Rehabilitation Neuropsychology and Guttmann Barcelona. In addition, some tutors, people who have already gone through a neurological injury, will share their skills and experiences to the participants.
