The 4th edition of Active Life, sponsored by Sabadell Seguros, is the start of a new stage for 6 young people with recent spinal cord injuries. For two weeks, these participants have dedicated themselves with full intensity to transfer the knowledge and skills learned during their rehabilitation in the hospital with the aim of recovering their functional autonomy to the maximum and building an independent and participatory life model.

In addition to living in the Guttmann Barcelona Life apartments, the participants have practiced handling their wheelchairs in different places in the city such as the Arc de Triomf and Parc de la Ciutadella, using public transport also.

As part of the promotion of sports practice, the participants played rugby with the collaboration of the Spartans Granollers Wheelchair Rugby team, handbikes in Banyoles with the Adapted Area, swimming with Bswim at the Mataró Swimming Centre, fitness at club DIR Maragall, hippotherapy at Hípica Rosell with Maresme Equine Therapy and dance with dancer Rita Notuel.

Apart from these activities, different training workshops have been held in which different entities have also participated: a job placement workshop with the Prevent Foundation, a workshop on how to organize a trip with the Travel Xperience agency, and a workshop on wheelchair maintenance and mechanics and support products with expert mentors. They have also participated in sessions on incontinence, sexuality and the philosophy of independent living, all with professionals from the Institut Guttmann.
