BBVA employees in Catalonia raise funds to help the neurorehabilitation of people affected by a stroke at the Institut Guttmann
More than 1,200 BBVA employees in Catalonia have participated in the solidarity initiative that the bank has set up to promote applied research projects that aim to improve the quality of life of people who have suffered an Ictus. The Institut Guttmann, center of reference in the treatment and neurorehabilitation of people with spinal cord injury, brain damage and other neurological disabilities, has been the beneficiary entity of this action.
The Institut Guttmann will allocate the amount collected to promote projects to help people who have suffered a sroke to recover the movement of the arm and the hand. Research in stroke is fundamental given the significant increase in people affected and given the special incidence in increasingly young people (under 40).
We greatly appreciate the initiative and we are glad that BBVA becomes Freind of the Institut Guttmann.
