The Conseller of Social Rights of the Generalitat of Catalonia, the Hon. Mr. Carles Campuzano, has visited the centre that the Institut Guttmann has in Barcelona, in the district of La Sagrera, which includes the Institute of Brain Health and Neurorehabilitation Guttmann Barcelona and the apartments for the promotion of independent living for people with disabilities, Guttmann Barcelona Life.

Carles Campuzano, accompanied by the director of the Territorial Services of Social Rights in Barcelona, Ms. Lluïsa Nicolau, was received by Dr. Montse Bernabeu, care director and co-director of the Institut Guttmann, and the manager and co-director, Ms. Montse Caldés, with whom he had a working meeting, along with other professionals, in which they explained the work we carry out for the promotion of personal autonomy and the different innovation and research projects that are being developed.

Then they visited the fully adapted and domotised housing at Guttmann Barcelona Life, designed to promote the quality of life of people with disabilities so that they can develop an independent life project in an active, inclusive way and with their own lifestyle.

"We need to transform support services for people with disabilities in terms of independent living, promoting human rights. Guttmann's experience will surely help us as a country to face this challenge" said Mr. Campuzano at the end of the visit.
