The 13th January took place at the Palau de la Música Catalana the anual award ceremony organized by the Avedis Donabedian Foundation (FAD), to recognise the healthcare institutions in different categories.

The Institut Guttmann received the recognition because of the Joint Comission International (JCI) 4th reacreditation that is an evidence of the accomplishment of the toughest international standards in connection with quality and health management. Dr. M. Victòria Amargós received this award gived by Ms. Paula Wilson, the JCI chairwoman. During the ceremony, took place the traditional New Year's Eve Concert of Health, that this year was "SWING, JAZZ AND MORE" by SWINGSET & MÒNICA GEORGE. 

The Avedis Donabedian Foundation introduced this awards on 1989 with the objective of recognising in public the daily effort of the institutions and its professionals in the Catalonia Health.
