The First International Hockey Tournament in electric wheelchair has been a succes
This weekend took place in the sports hall of the Institute Guttmann the I Hockey Tournament in electric wheelchair, organized by the Dracs of Guttmann and in collaboration with Institut Guttmann.
It has been two days of competition, fellowship and good sport. A large audience filled the stands of the pavilion and more than twenty volunteers helped organizational tasks.
The participating teams have been the Comkedem (Association of leisure and sport), the ADB Barbera, the CEM San Rafael, Guttmann Dragons and the Swiss team Whirldrivers, special guests of the tournament.
On Saturday six games were played, preceded by a briefing session and a meeting between coaches, delegates and referees. And on Sunday two exciting games, the Whirldrivers against San Rafael and to finish the day the Whirldrivers against the Catalan team. The Swiss team was the clear winner.
Physical education and sport are an element that is part of the rehabilitation process of people with disabilities and is a potent therapeutic ally to improve health. Promoting adapted sport is one of the founding objectives of Institut Guttmann. If you want more information, see our web.
