This weekend the new Guttmann Barcelona has opened its doors to more than 1,500 people who have wanted to know the modern facilities and the activity that will take place there. Saturday and Sunday more than 40 professionals from the Institut Guttmann Foundation have been offering talks, workshops and experiences for adults and children in an informative and entertaining way to bring society and the neighborhood closer to work in neurosciences, brain health, and promotion of the independent life.

The new Guttmann Barcelona is already a reality with the start of its activity in the neighborhood of La Sagrera, where the hospital was opened in 1965. The new building houses two different and disruptive initiatives that represent a step beyond for the Institut Guttmann: the Guttmann Barcelona Life apartments for the promotion of independent living, and the Brain Health Institute, which includes the Guttmann, NeuroPersonalClínic®, a specialized gym in neurorehabilitation with the latest technologies and the most innovative therapies.

The Institut Guttmann returns to the neighborhood of La Sagrera in Barcelona, where the institution was born on November 27th 53 years ago; 16 years after the construction of the hospital in Badalona, a national and international reference in Neurorehabilitation. The Institut Guttmann aware that the maintenance of the functionality of the nervous system and Brain Health is the great medical challenge of the 21st century. The Brain Health Institute will offer specialized neurorehabilitation services , opening up new care areas (Stroke, movement disorders, neurodevelopment, mental health, dementias ...).
