The Ministry of the Interior has awarded the Institut Guttmann with the "Silver Cross of the Order of Merit of the Civil Guard" for our institution's commitment to "the promotion and defense of the rights of people with disabilities and serious spinal cord and neurological injuries". The distinction has been dedicated to the Institut Guttmann for developing hospital and scientific activities specialized in people with disabilities of neurological origin, as well as numerous activities of a social nature always aimed at achieving an effective equalization of opportunities and the full inclusion of these people in our society.

Mr. Josep Giralt, 2nd Vice President of the Board of Trustees, received the distinction from the Minister of the Interior, Mr. Fernando Grande-Marlaska, in an event held last Friday in Madrid.
