On November 14, the hospital hosted the Institut Guttmann 2024 Sports Games, a day that brought together patients, athletes and technicians under the motto "Doing sports, we do health". The event aimed to promote physical and sports activity among patients, offering them the possibility of participating in various disciplines with the guidance of professionals and athletes from different modalities.

The activities were carried out with the collaboration of professionals from different clubs and federations, offering a wide variety of adapted sports. In addition, information stands were set up for those sports that could not be practiced in the facilities, such as skiing, sailing, diving and paddle tennis. This allowed patients to learn about sports options that they can explore once the rehabilitation process is complete.

The event was attended by around 130 patients, 50 athletes and coaches from various organizations, clubs and federations, as well as 15 Paralympic athletes. One of the highlights was the recognition of Paralympic athletes by the Institut Guttmann, which was followed by an inspiring talk by Sergio Garrote, Paralympic handbiker and medalist. Garrote shared his personal experience, his career and his successes as an elite athlete, offering attendees a message of hope, encouragement and motivation.

The event was highly appreciated by all participants, considering it a great opportunity to bring adapted sports closer to patients, encourage their inclusion through physical activity and promote health and well-being among people with disabilities.
