As we announced last January 23, the Department of Health extended the mandatory use of the mask in health centers and services for the prevention and control of infections until 01/30/2024 .
Today the Department of Health confirms that the mask will no longer be mandatory. Even so, the correct use of the mask is still recommended in the following cases:
- In people who have symptoms compatible with a respiratory illness such as the flu or COVID-19 when they are in shared or poorly ventilated spaces or if they come into contact with vulnerable people.
- In residences and health centers, in the event of the appearance of symptoms compatible with a respiratory disease such as the flu or COVID-19.
Responsibility is demanded in following the recommendations in order to avoid the increase in new infections as well as to ensure the health of the most vulnerable groups. Masks, together with frequent hand washing and distance between people, are one of the effective protective measures that must be used whenever symptoms of flu, COVID-19 or any respiratory disease appear.
