The National Police and the Institut Guttmann sign a collaboration agreement to facilitate the renewal of ID cards and passports for hospitalized patients and their families
n an event held today at the Institut Guttmann-Hospital for Neurorehabilitation, the Chief of Police of Catalonia, Principal Commissioner Luis Fernando Pascual; the manager and co-director, Ms. Montse Caldés; and the president of the Barcelona Health Foundation, Dr. Lluís Donoso, have proceeded to sign a collaboration agreement through which the National Police will facilitate access to process and renew the personal documentation of patients and their families during the admission period.
The procedures will be carried out at the hospital through the presence of an official vehicle enabled for these procedures on the premises, which will avoid travel to the police departments given the mobility difficulties of the majority of admitted patients. In this way, it also contributes to solving the serious documentation problems for admitted patients in the event that, on occasion, they have to do some necessary procedure where this documentation is required.
The agreement has been backed by the Barcelona Health Foundation, of which the Institut Guttmann is a part, a charitable organization made up of doctors and researchers whose aim is to promote healthy habits, prevention and greater knowledge of health collective
