Sensory experience at Circular Concert for the patients of the Institut Guttmann
Thursday, December 17th, the Institut Guttmann celebrated the arrival of Christmas with their patients with two amazing Circular Concerts that were a nice sensory experience for them all.
With an innovative concert away from the traditional conception, the Circular Concert for adult patients and their families, as well as for the hospital professionals, allowed the public to interact with the instruments and vibrations, even on top of their body very directly. Endearing classical music to all audiences, in a multisensory spectacle which also included instruments made of quartz glass and minerals and other curious instruments such as the didgeridoo and gongs, the concert gave to all attendees a physical and mental relaxation.
Then, in a second concert adapted for pediatric patients and their families, people enjoyed a repertoire of traditional and modern carols and a special performance by Damaris Gelabert, pedagogue, music therapist and author of children's songs and stories. Santa Claus came to deliver gifts to children, who were very excited, and also enjoy the hot chocolate at the pavilion of the hospital.
On Friday, music continued with a performance by the choir Guttmann, formed by professionals from the Institute Guttmann.
Merry Christmas!
