As University Institute of Neurorehabilitation attached to the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), mission of Guttmann Institute is to develop academic, scientific and research issues in neuroscience in general as well as in neurorehabilitation and technology applied to personal autonomy in particular. On the one hand, the convergence between Specialized Hospital –Centre of Excellence- and University Institute of Neurorehabilitation –Centre of  Knowledge-, allows to optimize generation and transference of new knowledge in this specialized area of ​​science, whereas, on the other hand, concentration of sufficient number of cases in the hospital and experts of the Guttmann Institute give this University Instituter a huge translational and clinical potential research.

Joint Committee Guttmann Institute-UAB is the planning and monitoring body of University Institute activities and is composed by three representatives of the Guttmann Institute and  three of the University. As every year, this Joint Committee met yesterday, May 12, at the Guttmann Institute for monitoring and coordinating relationship between both parts, the Foundation and the University. They met to ensure fulfillment of the objectives set out previous year and to set research and teaching lines of the University Institute. During the meeting, different possibilities to enhance university masters were discussed and, also, were presented the results of the training quality as well as outcomes in the field of research, which this year have been very positive.
