Brain health research
At the Institut Guttmann we do research into living longer and better, getting the maximum performance from our brain. The great challenge today is solving the puzzle of how to increase our knowledge and understanding of mechanisms of health promotion and the prevention of diseases or symptoms, as well as developing technological solutions to remotely monitor cognitive performance and personalised strategies to train cognitive abilities.
Knowing the mechanisms of brain health and developing these technological solutions are beneficial in aspects such as:
- Health promotion.
- Recovery from diseases that cause cognitive deficits such as stroke, Alzheimer’s or depression.
- Stimulating cognitive development in children with developmental or learning disorders.
- The creation of personalised programmes to promote life habits that improve brain health, promote active ageing and the prevention of frailty with the support of professionals and coaching strategies.
