In the first edition of the awards of the Platform of Patient Organizations (POP) has been awarded the initiative of the definition and implementation of the "New Reception Plan, incorporating the Patient Experience" of the Institut Guttmann which has had the participation of professionals, patients and families. The award ceremony took place at the headquarters of the ONCE Foundation in Madrid and was presented by Elena Hernández, Head of Nursing, accompanied by Blanca Cegarra, from the Empowerment and Quality of Life Area.
In 2020, the Plan for the Humanization of the Care Activity and the Empowerment of the Patient and his Family 2020-2022 was approved. It includes the strategic axes, objectives and activities around the culture of humanization. and empowerment in our institution. And it is within this framework that work has been done on a new “Reception Plan” with the aim of improving the reception of patients and families, by developing a relationship of trust between professional-patient / family and by achieving integration. patient satisfaction in the new environment, whether in-hospital or outpatient.
In order to draft this document, the existing protocols have been reviewed and proposals for improving the reception procedure have been collected by the institution's professionals and the needs and demands detected by patients and families at the time of the reception. The hospital's Humanization group, made up of professionals from different areas, with the support of Athena Solutions, has been in charge of drafting the Reception Plan promoting the patient experience as well as launching it. .
The Platform of Patient Organizations (POP) is an organization that brings together 33 patient organizations at the state level, representing more than 1,450 regional and provincial associations and these awards reward the best initiatives developed in Spain by health organizations that have patient participation.
