Presentation

The fundamental objective of this Master's degree is that the student acquires the specialized knowledge and competencies necessary to address the assistance and rehabilitation of patients with spinal cord injuries, acquired brain damage, or another disability of neurological origin. in a global and comprehensive manner, in adulthood or childhood. This approach is based on a physical, psychological and social dimension, optimizing the generation and transfer of new knowledge in the specialized field of neuroscience and neurorehabilitation.

The theoretical classes of the Master are located at the facilities of the Hospital de Neurorehabilitació Institut Guttmann (Camí de Can Ruti s/n, 08916 Badalona) and the practices are carried out at both the Hospital de Neurorehabilitació Institut Guttmann and the Hospital de Neurorehabilitació Institut Guttmann. Institute of Brain Health i Neurorehabilitació Guttmann Barcelona (Carrer Garcilaso nº 57, 08027 Barcelona).

Income profiles

The future students of the University Master's Degree in Neurorehabilitation must be in possession of an official Spanish university degree or an other degree issued by a higher education institution belonging to another member State of the European Higher Education Area or from third countries, which empowers the mateix for access to master's degrees, in the areas of connection related to Health and Sports Sciences: Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Physical and Sports Activities Sciences or other equivalent titles.
They are also expected to have a B1 Anglophone language level according to the European Common Reference Mark for Languages.

Duration

1 full-time academic year (60 ECTS credits). Face-to-face mode.
From mid-September to mid-July.

External practices 15 During the entire academic course, in the weekends that did not have programming of theoretical classes.
They are equivalent to 375 hours of face-to-face practices distributed between our two centers, and they will take the morning meal (from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.) and the other time in the afternoon (from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.). The calendars per student are scheduled at the beginning of the academic course.

Criteris and admission procedures

The application for admission to the master's degree is processed from the website of the Autonomous University of Barcelona-UAB, following the instructions detailed in this link: Application for admission: Official Master's Degree in Neurorehabilitation - UAB Barcelona
Pre-registration is for each academic course between the end of the year and the beginning of February, approximately; and it is organized in various tandes in which it is going to admit students. You will find the dates in the academic-administrative calendar.

Documentation required for pre-registration


Before starting the application, check the access requirements (here it is possible to link to the previous section of “income profiles?”) and the documentation that you must scan and attach to the application. Pre-registration to be able to complete the procedure:
1. Official academic record of the higher studies with details of the subjects studied, the ECTS credits (or the hours), the calls taken, the qualifications per subject and the global qualification.
2. Title associated with the academic record submitted to the previous document or receipt of having paid the taxes for issuing the title.
3. Curriculum Vitae, in this format.
4. Motivation letter, in this format.
5. B1 Diploma from Castellà, in the case of candidates of origin from a non-Spanish-speaking country.
6. Documents accrediting the training in the area of ​​the Master that has been included in the CV.

If the student has not completed his/her studies, he/she will attach the academic record with the details of the subjects taken, the ECTS credits (or the hours), the calls taken and the qualifications per subject.

Selection criteria


In the case that the name of the registered candidates exceeds that of the places offered, the award of places is in accordance with the following selection criteria, which the Teaching Committee of the Guttmann Institute values ​​out of 10 points:

1. Previous professional experience in the field of rehabilitation and disability. Each experience is valued at 1 point, ending with a maximum of 5 points.

2. Previous training linked to the master's degree (attendance or participation in postgraduate courses, conferences and conferences, publications and training states). Each training action carried out by the candidate is valued at 0.5 points, up to a maximum of 10 activities. All participations or publications must justify with a copy of the certificate of participation or publication.

3. Note from the academic record of the degree leading to the master's degree

These three parameters are valued and scored according to these percentages for the final calculation:

  • 60% of work experience in the field of rehabilitation and disability
  • 20% specific training in this area
  • 20% the mitjana grade of the academic record for access to the master's degree.
